School Holiday Speciality Classes

Join in the creative fun at Banjos Bead House. A wide variety of bead and craft projects are available. We keep our class sizes small to focus our attention on each individual child. 

 

 

Class costs include all materials used in the class. In our classes we encourage children to think about colour, design and pattern. We work with each child to assess and build their skills such as: counting; measurement; estimation; visual memory and repetition; and hand-eye co-ordination – all while having fun and creating unique pieces that they will enjoy wearing or using.

Please ensure you arrive at the class commencement time as classes will start and finish at the times indicated. Parents are welcome to stay or to leave children with us for the class and arrive back in time for the class conclusion.

Our project range is constantly expanding as we endeavour to meet children's individual skill level and interest. Please refer to photos below of recently completed projects and children enjoying our classes.

Class Details

 

General Projects Class

Age 5+, maximum 6 per class, 1hr - $35

Projects include:

• Bracelets – stretch; wrap
• Book marks and / or key rings – knotted; strung
• Necklaces – variety of styles

Projects offered will depend on the child’s age and skill level. We usually start with an elastic bracelet and offer other projects depending on skill level and interest shown by the child.  Children can usually complete 3-4 projects in an hour.

Earrings

Age 9+, maximum 6, 45min - $35

​Students will learn how to create loops and use this technique to create a range of earrings

 

Using Tools - Necklaces and Bracelets

Age 10+, maximum 6, 1 hr - $45 

Students will learn how to create and finish a necklace and/or bracelet. This class will include an introduction to basic tools, design and finishing using jewellery wire, wire guards and crimps. The class would suit students wanting to make jewellery with a more professional finish.

 

Seed Bead Embroidery

Age 9+, maximum 4, 3 hrs - $60 

Students will learn how to create and finish a seed beads embroidery pendant.  This class will include an introduction to basic seed bead embroidery techniques and attaching a bail. The class would suit students wanting to learn how to hand sew jewellery pieces with seed beads.

 

Wire wrap pendant

Age 10+, maximum 6, 45min - $30

Students will learn a basic wire wrapping technique to make a pendant

** Finished pieces from this class will need to be collected 2-3 days after the class
