Imaginarium

Come explore your imagination and stretch your skills in this workshop! Imaginarium was a creative experiment, asking the question “What If?”
This piece was inspired by the concert-band composition of the same name (“Imaginarium”) by Randall D Standridge, who’s musical work explored imagination and dreams, “a place where one imagines endless possibilities.” What if we combine open triangles, double sided triangles, cellini and throw in some superduos for good measure? The result is this stunning reversible pendant with stripes of colour twisting around, creating a lovely texture for the eyes and fingers to behold. A silky tassel (optional) completes the piece.

*Please note, this project will not be completed during the zoom sessions but you will have everything you need to finish this at home.

The zoom session will start a few minutes early to allow everyone time to join for the class

Please be ready to start your class at 8.55am so that you don’t miss any important information.

To allow this class to proceed there is a minimum of four participants. To ensure students receive the ideal level of personal attention there is a maximum of twelve students.

There will be a 10 minute break in this class.

To attend this event, you will need a laptop or tablet, the Zoom Application that can easily be downloaded for either Windows, Apple, or Android devices, and a good internet connection.  

A link to the zoom meeting will be sent out in a calendar booking and email prior to the class.

 

Skill Level:
This class is for Advanced Beginner beaders. Students should be proficient in peyote stitch, working in (very) tight spaces, keeping a tight tension. Experience of cellini and triangles an advantage but not necessary.

 

Cost:
$100 + Kit - this includes the 4 hours of Tuition and digital pattern.

 

Kit:

You can choose to build your own Kit or purchase one from Meg.

Kits are available in three colourways - Caribbean Seas (blue variation), Antique Rose (pink variation), Antique Rose (green variation) and cost $40 without the tassel or $45 with the tassel.

Once you have booked your class, you will be sent the link to purchase your kit from Meg.

Please note the cut-off times for ordering your kits:

Local: Order and pay by August 1st, to be sent out from August 4th (express post only).
International: Order and Pay by July 12, to be sent out by July 13th (international priority shipping only). If kits are ordered after these cut-offs, cannot be assured they will reach the student in time for class, will be at the student’s own risk (or purchase their own beads using the requirements list)

• 3g 11o Myuki seed beads (B)
• 3g 11o Toho seed beads (C)

• 9g Superduos
• 1x 7cm narrow tassel
• 2mm cord

 

Other items Required for Class:

• A #12 beeding needle;
• Your thread of choice (Fireline / Miyuki  KO or OneG);
• Sharp pointy scissors or thread zap;
• Beading Mat;
• Notebook/Pen/Pencil if you would like to take notes.

 

Tutor: Meg Thompson.
Beading became a proper hobby for Meg when she was about 15 years old. At this time she was still stringing and remembers writing craft shopping lists to ‘buy bigger beads’ as she was jealous of the pretty bigger glass beads her sister had in her stash. Finally she caved to her subconscious and embraced those tiny beads called seed beads!
Meg is a self taught bead artist. She taught herself peyote stitch at 16, and many many stitches and techniques since then, finally discovering bead embroidery in 2011 and she has never looked back!
Meg’s biggest passion is bead embroidery, but she also greatly enjoy bead weaving and combining the two.
Meg creates under the business name ‘A Beaded World’.

As this course is provided by a guest tutor no refunds will be available for cancellations unless we are able to sell your place to another student. If you need to cancel your booking and have someone willing to take your place in the class please contact Lynda to facilitate this change.

Should the course need to be cancelled full refunds will be paid.
